Bio:

David Nickarz has been a front-line activist for the past 20 years, where causes are not abstract concepts but personal lived experiences to him. Over the last two decades, the Canadian has worked to abolish pesticides in his home city of Winnipeg, Canada. But in 2005, he was diagnosed with cancer and, believing it to be connected with these pesticides, his convictions have become even stronger. Winnipeg is one of the few municipalities in Canada that still has not banned pesticides. But after chemotherapy and battling his cancer, Dave continues to fight today to end pesticide use, as well as assortment of environmental issues, including, whaling, sealing and logging.
