Eco-Warrior Profile: Molly Kendall

Molly Kendall is an anthropologist, born in Adelaide, Australia. As an eco-academic, Molly believes academic inquiry is vital as the developed world descends into eco-panic. Anthropology provides a framework to view culture and she believes we must see the successes/failures of different and alternative cultures to provide a systematic and discerning view of what our future, eco-friendly culture should look like. With an honors degree in Social Anthropology, she embarked on a three year study for her Masters, studying Australian communities that were alternative and sustainable. Focusing on three groups, the communities participated in organic growing, low impact building, alternative therapy, spirituality, social connectedness, re-vegetation, alternative social structure; and all agreed to a greater level of environmental sustainability. As an eco-anthropologist, Molly represents the academic importance to the environmental movement.
