Canadian filmmaker and activist, Andrew Nisker, spent many years honing his cinematic chops working for Canada’s top broadcasters including CBC, CTV, CHUM Television and Global. In 2005, after a friend of his died who was environmentalist, he decided to put his efforts to use in social and green change-making. Two years later he directed and produced his first feature length documentary, Garbage! The Revolution Starts at Home. Garbage! examines the effects that our garbage production has on us, our communities and the environment. The film has great success as it has been screened world-wide, from festivals in Italy to Canada, and premiered on the Sundance Channel in March, 2009. Garbage! has also inspired the growth of an online community of “Revolutionaries” at www.garbagerevolution.com. "Garbage revolutionaries" who are examining their garbage and changing their consumption levels. Presently, Andrew is in production on his latest feature documentary, Chemical Nation, that spotlights the effects of household chemical. Chemical Nation is set to be released in December 2009.
